BeMyMentor – Terms & Conditions for Mentees

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the BeMyMentor platform as a Mentee. By registering or using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. About the Platform

BeMyMentor is a digital mentorship and consulting service that connects individuals seeking guidance with independent industry experts. The Platform facilitates bookings, payments, communication, and session management, but it does not employ or represent any mentor directly.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform. You must provide accurate, truthful, and complete information during registration. Your login credentials must be used only by you and must not be shared.

3. Platform Use & Code of Conduct

You must behave respectfully and professionally in all interactions on the Platform. You must use the Platform only for mentorship and consulting purposes. You must keep all session discussions and information confidential. You must avoid any illegal, unethical, misleading, or inappropriate behaviour. You must not contact mentors outside the Platform or share your personal contact details. BeMyMentor may suspend or terminate your account if you misuse the Platform or breach these Terms.

4. Sessions, Bookings & Payments

You must book and pay for all sessions through the BeMyMentor Platform. Fees are determined by BeMyMentor and shown at the time of booking. All payments must be made in INR and are non-refundable except in cases of verified technical failure or scheduling issues. If you fail to join the session within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, the session will be marked as completed without any refund. If you cancel a session less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, you will not be eligible for a refund.

5. Communication

You must communicate only through the BeMyMentor Platform. BeMyMentor is not responsible for any conversation, advice, exchange, or activity that takes place outside the Platform.

6. Third-Party Tools & Integrations

The Platform may use external tools such as video conferencing, scheduling systems, and productivity applications. BeMyMentor is not responsible for outages, failures, or performance issues related to such tools. BeMyMentor does not sell your personal data and does not share identifying information without your consent. Your data may be used to improve Platform performance and personalise your user experience.

7. Confidentiality & Data Protection

BeMyMentor follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable IT security standards. You must not record, share, or distribute any session content unless permission is specifically granted. BeMyMentor may store and process data using secure, international systems. You must report any suspected data breach immediately. Confidentiality obligations continue for three years after your account is terminated.

8. Intellectual Property

All branding, software, templates, training content, and platform materials are owned by BeMyMentor. You receive a limited, non-transferable licence to use the Platform. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform’s content.

9. Relationship Disclaimer

Mentors are independent professionals and not employed by BeMyMentor. BeMyMentor does not guarantee any specific results or outcomes from your sessions. You are solely responsible for your personal and professional decisions based on advice received during mentorship.

10. Fees, Taxes & Invoices

All fees displayed are exclusive of taxes, levies, or payment processing charges. You are responsible for paying all applicable taxes. BeMyMentor may request proof of payment for audit and record-keeping purposes.

11. Termination

BeMyMentor may suspend or terminate your access due to non-payment, misuse, false information, unethical behaviour, or violation of these Terms. After termination, your access is immediately revoked and any outstanding payments must be cleared. The Platform may retain your data for up to 90 days for legal and audit purposes.

12. Limitation of Liability

BeMyMentor is not responsible for indirect, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of profit, data, or expected outcomes. The Platform is not responsible for the actions or behaviour of mentors or mentees. BeMyMentor’s liability is limited to the total amount you paid in the three months prior to raising a claim. You agree to indemnify BeMyMentor against any claims arising from your misuse of the Platform or breach of these Terms.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. You must first attempt to resolve disputes amicably. Any unresolved disputes will proceed to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration is Mumbai and the language is English. Courts in Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and BeMyMentor. Any changes must be approved in writing by BeMyMentor. If any clause is found invalid, the remaining terms will continue to apply. BeMyMentor is not liable for delays caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters or pandemics. Official notices may be sent via email or registered post.
